Two to four blocks will be featured each month.

Come in the last Saturday of the month (except December!) at 9:00 if you would like a demonstration of how to make the blocks.

Techniques using rotary cutting, Thangles, Easy Angle, hand piecing, and freezer paper templates will be shown. There are 111 blocks in the Farmer's Wife Sampler book.

You are not required to stick with the club to make all of these; you can make as many or few blocks as you wish.

Are you interested in Lucky's challenge?

Do NOT buy any new fabric! Use from your stash
--OR --
or buy Lucky's scrap bags.

As we get rolling along in the club, members will be asked to share farmer's wives tales, recipes, gardening and animal care tips. Some of these will be posted on the website.
Purchase of the book is required.

Club fee each month is $2.00 plus tax for each block featured that month BUT if you attend on Saturday with completed blocks to show, the total cost is $1.00 plus tax for each block featured that month. Club members are welcome to come in and sew their blocks with assistance or make up a missed Saturday class any 1st Tuesday from 10:00 - 7:00.

Cora Jo's Circle

Block of the Month 2012

Beginning in January

Cora Jo's Circle is a queen sized quilt designed from original 30's patterns. There are 12 blocks plus a center block. You can opt to make a smaller quilt if you leave out the center block.

Blocks use three different 1/4 yard pieces OR leftover pieces from previous blocks.

Now is the time to use some of your stash or you can get kits with new fabrics.

Options:
1) Come in and pick up patterns anytime each month OR
2) Attend class demo and/or stay and sew the 2nd Tuesdays at 10:30 or the 3rd Saturdays at 2:00.

Cost: $2.00 per month for pattern or $20.00 at the beginning for all the patterns.
You will need to purchase the background fabric (Kansas Troubles is done with various background fabrics) and patterns. Kits and 1/4 yard cuts will be available each month but feel free to use from your own stash too. New 30's and batik fabrics are expected to arrive by January.

Will mail kits upon request.

Lucky and Shy Cleo (edge of photo on right) check out the new Cora Jo's Circle Blocks in the three colorways. Sally, Pauline and Polly have chosen to do this in very different types of fabrics (30's, batik and Kansas Troubles). Can you guess who has done which?
